Dugan's is located on The Pavement near the Clock Tower within easy walking distance of the main car park on Oxford Rd.
From Thursday to Saturday we're open to offer delicious French Style Patisserie, a Loaded Salad Bar, Fresh Coffee and Great Wines carefully selected from Small Producers.
We have some seating inside and weather depending outside. No bookings taken so stop by, take away or if you find a spot sit and watch the world go by.
Dugan's is owned and operated by Tracy and Ben. Everything is made fresh in our cellar kitchen under the leadership of the very creative artisan baker Tracy Dugan.

Cold or Warm our Savoury Individual Tarts made with Mature Cheddar Cheese are fantastic for Lunch or as a Starter. Options include Sweet Potato, Walnut and Sage, Roasted Leeks with Dijon and Wholegrain Mustard, Chorizo Sausage with Roasted Bell Peppers and Red Pesto or Goats Cheese, Peppers and Tomato.

Wake up to rolling countryside views right in the centre of Hay-on-Wye, the "Town of Books" nestled at the foot of the Black Mountains. The View is a beautifully appointed 2-bedroom flat just steps from the historic Clock Tower, sitting in the sweet spot between vibrant town life and some of Wales' most spectacular landscapes.
The Space
The View sleeps up to 4 guests across two bedrooms:
- Bedroom 1: 1 super king bed

Both beds are dressed in stone-washed linen bedding from Soak & Sleep, chosen for that lived-in, effortlessly comfortable feel — crisp, breathable, and perfect after a day exploring the hills or browsing the bookshops.
The real showstopper, though, is the view itself: open countryside stretching out towards Clyro, a scene that changes with the light throughout the day.
